However, for those who have a 3G Smartphone and are not planning to buy a 4G phone here is are some method which will help you make Jio SIM work on your 3G Android device. But, for these methods, you will need an activated Jio SIM and a 3G smartphone. So let’s take a look at these methods and the steps required to be executed.
Method #1: By Tweaking Your Settings
Step 1: Insert your JIO 4G SIM (preferably in the first SIM slot) in your 3G device and turn your device on.

Step 2: Open the dialer of your device and type ##4636*#*# in it. Step 3: You will automatically be taken to the testing page. Step 4: If your device is a dual SIM device, open the phone information of the slot in which you have inserted your Jio SIM. For example, if you entered the SIM the first SIM slot, open the ‘Phone Information 1’ option and ‘Phone Information 2’ if you inserted it in the second SIM slot. If you have a single SIM device, you’ll see an option named ‘Phone Information.’ Open it. Step 5: Then search for ‘Set preferred network time’ option and click on the drop down option to see the list of networks. Search and select ‘LTE/GSM auto’ from the list of networks. Step 6: Then go to Settings » Mobile Networks » Carrier. Here, turn off the automatic select option and search for carriers manually. Then, select whichever 4G network you will find. Don’t worry if one doesn’t connect since soon you’ll find another one which will connect. That’s it! You will now be able to use the 4G data provided by the Jio SIM on your 3G device.

Step 1: Download the apps named ‘Xorware 2G/3G/4G Interface PRO‘ [appbox googleplay com.xorware.network.s2g3g.settings] ‘Xorware 2G/3G/4G Switcher’ [appbox googleplay com.xorware.network.s2g3g.xposed.switcher&hl=en] Step 2: Launch the ‘Xorware 2G/3G/4G Interface PRO’ app and select ‘4G (LTE)’ in both ‘2G Network Mode’ and ‘2G/3G Network Mode’. Step 3: Once you have selected 4G (LTE), turn off your device and insert the Jio SIM in your device. Now, turn your device on. In these simple steps, you will be able to use the 4G data from your Jio SIM on your 3G device.
Method #3: Using a Shortcut to the 1st Method
Step 1: Download an app named ‘4G LTE Switch‘ from the Google Play Store. Step 2: Launch this app and you well directly enter the phone information page. Step 3: Here, search for ‘Set preferred network type’ and select ‘LTE/WCDMA‘ from the drop down list. Step 4: Then, tap on the option termed as ‘update‘ which is located at the bottom of the page. Step 5: Once the above-listed steps are executed properly, reboot your device. On rebooting, you will now be able to use your jio SIM on a 3G device.
